Non-GMO candle wax and melts

We use non-GMO (genetically modified organism) soy wax. It is a hydrogenated form of soybean oil (extracted from soybeans). This renewable raw material, produced ecologically and 100% biodegradable, allows for excellent fragrance diffusion and does not alter the scent, as it is itself odorless.

You can therefore be assured of using products that are not only environmentally friendly, but also safe for your home and your health. Furthermore, our wax is vegan, cruelty-free, natural, and eco-responsible.

As they age, all soy waxes will frost over time, but fortunately, the frosting is purely cosmetic and doesn't affect how your creation burns or smells. It's simply a natural product that changes over time.

Tip: a candle that takes time to rest before being burned will burn slowly; the longer you wait, the harder the wax will be.

CMR and phthalate-free candle and melt fragrances

Our fragrances are created in Grasse, France, by master perfumers. This guarantee of reliability allows us to give each of your scented products an olfactory story and a unique character. of sensory emotions.

Burning a candle is not without risk, which is why the fragrances offered are specially designed for candle making. They are guaranteed free of CMR substances, phthalates, are vegan, and are not tested on animals.
CMR substances (carcinogenic, mutagenic, reprotoxic) are chemical substances that can cause harmful effects in humans. Choose candles that do not contain these substances to protect your health.

It's important to know that some perfumes may contain traces of CMR substances in their pure, 100% formula, but these traces disappear when diluted. Similarly, bleach, which is classified as harmful in its pure form, is no longer classified as such when diluted in our swimming pool to a certain percentage.

Warning: A candle containing essential oils is no less dangerous than a conventional scented candle. Some essential oils cannot withstand heat and can release toxic substances. Natural products are not necessarily safe.

Question 3

Wicks of poured and molded candles

Our wicks are untreated and comply with European REACH regulations.
Cotton wick (untreated), paper core. They release neither harmful chemicals nor heavy soot into the air when burned. This is particularly important for people concerned about indoor air quality and those with respiratory sensitivities.

When first lighting, allow the wax to melt across its entire diameter so that a hole does not form in its center.

The wick should be trimmed to between 5 and 7 mm before each use. A wick that is too long will produce a large flame, and your candle will burn much faster and unevenly.

EXPLANATION: 
 • Scented candles must bear labels that comply with the NF EN 15494 standard and the CLP regulations.
 • Unscented candles must only bear the AFNOR label (NF EN 15494).
 • Scented pebbles and wax melts must only bear the CLP label.
 • Unscented pebbles and wax melts do not need a regulatory label.

CLP:
(Classification, labeling and packaging in English or classification, labeling and packaging in French), is the name of European regulation No. 1271/2008 for the classification, labeling and packaging of substances and mixtures.

It serves to inform users about the risks associated with using candles and the health hazards.

It mandates the creation of safety and warning labels for scented candles and wax melts that comply with the CLP regulation. This is a legal obligation if you sell your candles and wax melts in Switzerland and the European Union.
The regulations apply even if you make 100% natural candles scented with essential oils.

Note: CLP labels should be different depending on the fragrance used.
All information must be written in the language of the country in which you sell your candles.

In Europe, the AFNOR - NF EN 15494 label must be added: 
European standard relating to the safety against fire risks of candles intended for indoor use.
It requires the display of a number of safety standards, such as the risks associated with burning candles or the risk of fire, and the provision of advice.
Since Switzerland is not part of Europe, this is an added, but not mandatory, mention.

Jesmonite Creations

Jesmonite is an eco-resin made from a mixture of natural mineral fillers, mainly gypsum (plaster stone), and a water-based acrylic binder.

The dyes used are water-based. Our creations are therefore natural and eco-friendly.

Variations in color or bubbles may be present and are in no way considered defects. They are the result of using natural materials and the craftsmanship involved. These small variations attest to the authenticity and originality of our products, reflecting the care and artisanal expertise that go into each creation.

Jesmonite Candle Color Variations and Creations

Each Smell of Happiness creation is handcrafted, which may explain slight variations in color although each quantity of dye is carefully weighed.
We advise you to group your orders so that they are prepared and poured all at once.
This does not affect the quality in any way and should not be considered a defect!

Stones and gems

We work exclusively with a supplier located in Europe who has a long and solid expertise and passion for gemstones. This supplier can guarantee the quality and authenticity of each stone.

On each product page you will find the classification of the stone, which can generate price variations for the same stone.
There is a classification system with grades from AB to AAA. It corresponds to the degree of purity (absence of inclusions, defects) as well as the color (transparency) of the gem.

• We primarily use stones of classification A (good), A+ (very good) for healing purposes.
 
 • Decorative creations may be classified as AB, meaning their quality (aesthetics) is considered average, with some visible flaws. Their color and clarity are acceptable, but they may have more noticeable marks or inclusions.

Photos of the site

The photos on our website are mostly taken by us; we adjust the colors and backgrounds to best showcase our products. We strive to capture every detail and nuance so our customers have a clear idea of what they are buying. However, with our handcrafted creations and the stones themselves, each piece is unique! The handcrafted nature of the work and the use of natural materials mean that there will be natural variations in the shape, color, and even the arrangement of the stones.

This means that the photos may not be exactly identical to the actual product. Another factor that can play a role is lighting, both during the photo shoot and in the environment where the item is placed.
The slight differences make each creation special, one of the charms of our handmade items inspired by crystal healing and bohemian style. These variations make your purchase even more unique and personal, but the photos of these items should therefore be considered as non-contractual.
