Quelques explications utiles
We use non-GMO (genetically modified organism) soy wax. It is a hydrogenated form of soybean oil (extracted from the soybean). This renewable, environmentally friendly, and 100% biodegradable raw material allows for excellent fragrance reproduction and does not alter them, being odorless itself.
You can be sure that you're using products that are not only environmentally friendly, but also safe for your home and your health. What's more, our wax is vegan, cruelty-free, natural, and eco-friendly.
As the wax ages, it will tend to whiten. This process is completely normal. It's a natural product that changes over time; this will not affect the combustion of your candle.
Tip: a candle that takes time to rest before being burned will burn slowly; the longer you wait, the harder the wax will be.
Our fragrances are crafted in Grasse, France, by master perfumers. This guarantee of reliability allows us to provide each of your fragranced products with an olfactory story and a vehicle for sensory emotions.
Burning a candle is no small matter, which is why the fragrances offered are specially designed for candle making. They are guaranteed to be free of CMR substances, phthalates, and cruelty-free.
CMR (carcinogenic, mutagenic, reprotoxic) substances are chemicals that can cause harmful effects to humans. To protect your health, choose candles that do not contain these substances.
Caution: A candle containing essential oils is no less dangerous than a conventional scented candle. Some essential oils cannot tolerate heat and can release toxic substances. Natural isn't necessarily safe.
Our wicks are untreated and comply with European REACH regulations.
Cotton wick (untreated), paper core. They do not release harmful chemicals or heavy soot into the air when burned. This is especially important for people concerned about indoor air quality and those with respiratory sensitivities.
When first lighting, allow the wax to melt over its entire diameter so that a hole does not form in its center.
The wick should be trimmed to between 5 and 7 mm before each use. A wick that is too long will cause a large flame and your candle will burn much faster and unevenly.

AFNOR - NF EN 15494: European standard for safety against fire risks of candles intended for indoor use.
It requires the display of a number of safety standards, such as the risks associated with burning candles or the risk of fire, and the recommendation of advice.
The label must include several general warning pictograms. Including safety advice and precautions for use (usually stuck under the candles)
CLP: (Classification, Labeling, Packaging in English or Classification, Labeling and Packaging in French), is the name of European regulation No. 1271/2008 for the classification, labeling and packaging of substances and mixtures.
It serves to inform users about the risks associated with the use of candles and the health hazards.
It requires the creation of safety and warning labels for scented candles and melts that comply with the CLP regulation. This is a legal requirement if you sell your candles and melts in France and the European Union.
The regulations apply even if you make 100% natural candles scented with essential oils.
Please note: CLP labels must be different depending on the fragrance used.
All information must be written in the language of the country in which you sell your candles.
Jesmonite is an eco-resin made from a mixture of natural mineral fillers, mainly gypsum (plaster stone), and a water-based acrylic binder.
The dyes used are water-based, making our creations natural and eco-friendly.
Color variations or bubbles may be present and are in no way to be considered defects. They are the result of the use of natural materials and craftsmanship. These small peculiarities testify to the authenticity and originality of our products, reflecting the attention and craftsmanship that goes into each creation.
Each Smell of Happiness creation is handcrafted, which may explain slight variations in color, although each amount of dye is carefully weighed.
We recommend grouping your orders so that they can be prepared and poured at the same time.
This does not affect the quality in any way and should not be considered a defect!
We work exclusively with a European-based supplier with extensive expertise and a passion for stones. They can guarantee the quality and authenticity of each stone.
On each product sheet you will find the classification of the stone, which can generate price variations for the same stone.
There is a classification with grades from AB to AAA. It corresponds to the degree of purity (absence of inclusions, defects) as well as the color (transparency) of the gem.
• We mainly use stones of classification A (Good), A+ (very good) for care uses.
• For decorative creations, they may be classified as AB, meaning that the quality (aesthetics) is considered average, with visible defects. Their color and clarity are acceptable, but they may have more visible marks or inclusions.
The photos on our website are mostly taken by us; we adjust the colors and backgrounds to properly present our products. We strive to capture every detail and nuance so our customers have a clear idea of what they are purchasing. However, when it comes to our handcrafted creations and stones, each piece is unique! Handcrafted manufacturing and natural materials mean natural variations in the shape, color, and even arrangement of the stones.
This means that the photos may not be exactly identical to the actual product. Another factor that can play a role is the lighting, both during the shooting and in the environment in which the item is placed.
Small differences make each creation special, one of the charms of our items inspired by lithotherapy and handmade bohemian style. These variations make your purchase even more unique and personal, but the photos of these items should therefore be considered non-contractual.
If you have specific questions about a product, or would like to see more photos before finalizing your purchase, please feel free to contact us for more details. We will be happy to provide you with additional information and help you with your choice.
